Today I’m gonna be talking about how to feel constantly motivated, where you can draw the most of your inspiration from when learning a language or doing any other goal-directed activity.
First, I would like to ask you a question. How do you think we feel when we encounter some difficulties or obstacles along our journey? And when we come across an obstacle we tend to feel dreadful. In fact, the more obstacles we encounter the more discouraged we feel. And that might continue until we quit what we are doing.
But what if you look at it from a different perspective? Why should you view your struggles and difficulties as something terrible? In fact, it’s not an obstacle as such that prevents us from advancement, but rather we preventing ourselves from it.
The way we perceive it, this is what really makes the difference, because our issues and obstacles they are neither bad nor good, they are neutral.
And what I would like to suggest you here is, try to view your difficulties as challenges, not as obstacles. And a challenge is a word with a positive meaning. A challenge is something which actually should make you feel enthusiastic because guess what. If you finally manage overcome an obstacle, then how are you gonna feel at the end? And I’m sure you’re gonna feel amazing because despite the fact how tough the challenge was you managed to get over it. You have made it. Indeed, the harder a challenge is, the greater you’re gonna feel when you overcome it.
We can’t escape problems and adversities in our life because it’s just how it is. There’s never going to be a perfectly smooth path along our hike. There gonna be sticks and stones spread around and falling from up above all the way up to the summit.
Sometimes we experience the toughest adversities in our life, and they are so harsh that it seems almost impossible that we can ever deal with them, but if we persevere no matter what, if we work our way through them in spite of all the harshness of the adversities then it makes you feel really inspired, it makes you feel unconquerable, because afterwards dealing with ordinary struggles starts to seem like a breeze for you. In fact, you don’t need anybody to encourage you or cheer you up anymore, because anytime you remember your overcoming those adversities it instantly makes you hugely encouraged and inspired.
So, don’t run away from your obstacles, treat them as challenges, take advantage of them and you will feel continuously motivated. It works like a snowball effect. The more challenges you face and the more of them you overcome, the more enthusiastic you’re gonna feel. And guess what. The source where you can draw most of your inspiration is not really your victories, but the greatest challenges you managed to overcome.
