(Once Vitya and Boris decided to meet up)
Boris: Hello! Haven’t seen you for ages! I’ve missed you
Vitya: So have I. Guess what? We are missing a marvellous concert right now…
Boris: Are we? What’s the concert?
Vitya: The band “Toothpaste” is appearing on Red Square now, but TV doesn’t work, unfortunately…
Boris: Blimey! It appears we won’t see Red Square today…
Vitya: Yeah, it, definitely, feels exciting there…
(Vitya looked at Boris who seemed thoughtful)
Vitya: What are you thinking about?
Boris: I’m not thinking. I’m meditating. I always meditate in a stressful situation.
Vitya: I’m feeling a little tense either. Would you like some coffee?
Boris: Sounds great!
Vitya: By the way, have you heard that Margarita Stepanovna and Peter Arkhipovich are seeing each other?
Boris: Are they? I thought they had been married for 40 years already…
Vitya: They had, but then they got divorced.
Boris: Hmm. If they are divorced why don’t they get married again?
Vitya: But they even haven’t had the first date…
Boris: Hmm. Something doesn’t quite add up… By the way, the coffee tastes really good.
Vitya: Thank you. My cat likes it as well. Here he is, smelling it.
Boris: Not only is he smelling the coffee but also tasting it I would say. He is beingstrange today.
Vitya: My cat is always strange.
Boris: (Lifting the cat) What a heavy cat!
Vitya: Yeah, he weighs a lot.
Boris: How much?
Vitya: Have no idea, really. I’ve never weighed him.
(The mobile is ringing)
Rita: Hello, Vitya!
Vitya: Hello, Rita!
Rita: How are you?
Vitya: Fine. My cat, Boris and I are having a really good time together.
Rita: Oh, sounds nice. What are you doing there?
Vitya: We are having coffee and chatting away.
Rita: Yeah, especially when it comes to your cat!
Vitya: Exactly! And how are you?
Rita: Great. Thanks. I’m having dinner and thinking about life. Are you still on for tomorrow?
Vitya: Tomorrow I‘m seeing with my colleagues. How about the day after tomorrow?
Rita: At the same time?
Vitya: Yeah, at the same.
Rita: Alright. It’s settled then. See you tomorrow at the florist’s… Oh, by the way, thank you for those flowers. They smell really marvellous!
Vitya: You are welcome. My cat likes these flowers too. Here he is, smelling them.
Rita: Smelling?
Vitya: Yeah. Not only is he smelling the flowers, but he’s also tasting one.
Rita: He is being strange today.
Vitya: He is always strange…
Rita: What the hell? My washing machine is already switched off, and yet I‘m hearing it working…
Vitya: That’s my washing machine.
Rita: Ahh.
Vitya: Guess what? Last night I had a very interesting dream. I dreamt that I was in 2116. And now I have been seeing images of the future in my head all day long.
Rita: Wow! Sounds fantastic! It’s a good thing that not a washing machine, though.
