If you want to know which type of diet a person follows you don’t need to ask them. You just need to have a look at their face skin. Of course, food might not be the main reason why your skin looks the way it does. But, from my experience, in most cases, your diet plays the main role.
When it comes to face skin issues, a popular solution to it is some chemical product. Those are, basically, marketed as quick fixes. You use it a few times and then your skin is supposed to be crystal clear. However, not only doesn’t it work, but it is also harmful to your skin.
Back in the day, I didn’t know much about natural skincare (without using any special substances). A chemical lotion or something like that was the only solution that I knew, but I quit it very soon. Not only didn’t it work, but it also made things worse.
Since grade 5 and throughout all college years, until the early 20s, I used to have huge problems with face skin. And didn’t know how to deal with them. The Internet was half-empty at that time. The only thing that worked was sunbathing. Yet as soon as I left the seaside, skin problems came back.
But with time it started to dawn on me what the matter was. As I gained more knowledge and experience in natural skincare, it started to gradually improve to the point where I manage to maintain perfectly smooth and clear skin for months. And even if some issue pops up, I know when it’s supposed to stem from, make some corrections and it quickly reverses.
By having solid natural skincare habits you are able to maintain its health for a very long time. Sometimes you might backslide, which is natural, and your skin will show you the result of it. Yet if it happens rarely, it gets back to normal very quickly.
So, the first thing I would like to mention right off the bat is in order to start having cleaner skin we need to address the root cause of unhealthy skin. Because what lotions and other chemical products address are the consequences of the issue and not the cause of it. And even if you manage to get rid of those consequences. Guess what? They will come back very soon. Why? Because you didn’t get rid of the root cause of the problem. But if you address it at the core, then there are no consequences any longer.
A good example is a tree. If you cut the leaves of this tree, they will grow again. But if you cut the roots of it, then the leaves can no longer grow.
Here are some good news: You don’t need to own any chemical substances (which might be harmful in a way) for your skin to stay healthy. You can do it by following some healthy steps. Which might be challenging to follow, but which are highly rewarding in the end.
And here are the root causes of unhealthy face skin according to my experience.
1)Unhealthy diet (too much sugary food, bakeries, junk food, too many carbohydrates)
2)Improper hygiene (putting dirty hands on your face, not changing your pillowcase and hand towel very often)
Once I started to clean up my diet (mainly, eat more raw vegetables and nutritious products, and fewer foods packed full of sugar and chemicals) and change my pillowcases and hand towels more often my skin started to look better.
To be honest, It took me quite a while to install strong eating habits, to replace low-quality food with healthier alternatives, to find those alternatives, to resist various temptations. Not to mention hours and hours spent on in-depth research. It took me about 10 years to gradually become consistent in following a healthy diet as close to 100% natural as possible. Surely, it’s quite challenging to have 100% natural meals every single day. Not to mention the fact, that you cannot know every single bit about the contents of the product you are eating.
However, in my opinion, it’s enough to hit about 80-90%. I used to struggle to hit even 50% years ago. But now the cleanliness of my diet, for the most part, varies from 90% to 95% approximately. I thought it was nearly impossible to get that close. But if I manage to, then you can, definitely, too.
