Banana Quark Cake with Cinnamon (Simple and Healthy Recipe)

Recently, I’ve stumbled upon an interesting dessert. Not only is it amazingly scrumptious, but it’s also super healthy. More so, it’s got one very important feature – a minimalistic recipe.

‘Quark cake’ probably sounds complicating and time-consuming to you. However, when I was looking for a quick and easy recipe, I managed to find the most minimalistic one. And then in the process of preparing it, by experimenting with different ingredients, I encountered ‘the best version’ of it.

So, what makes this dessert special is we add a banana instead of sugar and also cinnamon to get this unique taste.

Alright, let’s get started with our recipe. Quick and simple. What you need is:

1)1 packet of quark (200 gr)
2)1 banana
3)1 egg
4)Cinnamon powder (as much as it takes to cover the top with 1 thin layer)

Of course, adding cinnamon is optional. You can enjoy your quark cake without it. Or you can try adding something else instead. For example, nut butter.

Note that this much of the ingredients will serve just 1 person. So if you have guests then you will have to… kick them out of your house and then enjoy your quark cake. Just kidding, Don’t do that. It would be quite selfish, wouldn’t it? Instead, kick yourself out of your house and then enjoy your quark cake.

So, mix those ingredients in your blender, then take a baking bowl with a volume suitable for 1 person.

Keep in mind that this is a selfish recipe. If with this much amount, we use more than 1 bowl to offer the dessert to the guests, our friends won’t feed their appetite (unless they are guinea pigs).

And lastly, grease the surface with butter and pour the mixture into the bowl.

Bake it at 180C for 50-60 minutes, or at 250C for 15-20 minutes. At 200C will also work. I don’t know how long for, though, because I haven’t tried this temperature yet. However, according to the above-mentioned pattern, it should be somewhere between 20 and 50 minutes.

When most of the cake’s surface starts having a golden brown colour, it’s done. If you bake longer, it might partly get burnt on top. So don’t wait until the entire surface gets evenly coloured (unless you are drawing your quark cake).

Done?

Cool.

Enjoy your meal.

Too hot? Well, I told you to cool it first and then enjoy, didn’t I?
